Puerto Vallarta Mens Chorus Pride Concert June 17

Puerto Vallarta Men’s Chorus (PVMC), the first gay chorus in Latin America, raised in excess of 70,000 pesos as it kicked off its fundraising efforts on Monday, May
14, with a special night of festivities at No Way José!, named Vallarta’s “Best Overall Restaurant” in
2011.

The chorus, already forty-five men strong and consisting of both Mexican Nationals as well as Expatriates from all around the world, performed a special version of Sing-A-Song with beautiful Spanish lyrics written by Vallarta’s own Paco Ojeda who is also a chorus member.

“The community response has been amazing. The money we raised exceeded our expectations
and provided us with the funds we needed to secure our December holiday performance at Teatro
Vallarta,” commented Bob Bruneau, Director of the PVMC. “We could not have done it without the
hard work of all the folks at No Way José! who helped make the night was a spectacular success.
Thank you Alfredo for sharing your birthday bash with us!”

The first PVMC concert will be Sunday, June 17th at the Boutique Theatre. “This is a special concert
to celebrate gay pride that we have named Sing Out Proud! you won’t want to miss!” promises
Director Bruneau. “There will be singing, dancing and other surprises.”

Tickets to this special performance are available online at Boutiquetheatre.ca and seats are limited. Those wishing to attend are advised to make reservations as soon as possible online or by calling the Boutique Theatre
at 322-728-6878.

The mission of Puerto Vallarta Men’s Chorus is to present quality male choral music in Spanish
and English using the voices and talent of gay Mexicans and expatriates to entertain, enlighten, and
unify our audience and members while building bridges of greater understanding, acceptance and
love between communities, cultures, families, and friends. More information can be found on their
website at PVmenschorus.org .

For those men out there who would like to become a singing member of the PVMC gay chorus, there  is still time to audition. Simply send an email to info@pvmenschorus.org and Sing Out Proud!

Fox News Names Puerto Vallarta Best Beach Town!

FOX NEWS says PV is one of the worlds Best Beach Towns!

Crystal blue water, vine-hung foothills and waterfalls and an idyllic old town have
made Puerto Vallarta one of Mexico’s most popular travel destinations.

For years Puerto Vallarta lived in relative obscurity, eclipsed by
more popular resorts like Cancun and Acapulco.  But over the last 50
years, word of Puerto Vallarta’s beauty has gotten out!

Beaches

Puerto Vallarta boasts miles of pristine beaches. From secluded
sanctuaries to hopping hotspots, the resort can meet any expectations.
One of the town’s most famous and popular beaches is Los Muertos,
located in the Zona Romántica (Romanic Zone). Don’t let its name
(translated as the beach of the dead) deter you.

Sites

Puerto Vallarta’s old town, with cobbled streets and white stucco
buildings, is also a huge draw for tourists and history buffs. The
Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe is the central feature of the town’s
skyline.

Wildlife

While in Puerto Vallarta, you have the chance to swim with dolphins
or sea lions. If you visit between mid-December and the end of March,
you can go whale watching in the Banderas Bay, possibly spotting
humpback whales and wild dolphins, Pelicans and parakeets are just a few
of the birds you can see at the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens.

The waters surrounding Puerto Vallarta are a favorite for deep sea
fishermen and the resort is also home to top-flight horseback riding,
kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving.

Whether you are looking for fun in
the sun or a complete cultural experience, Puerto Vallarta has
something for you.

Summer in Puerto Vallarta

SUMMER TIME IN PUERTO VALLARTA!

“How hot does it get in Puerto Vallarta in the Summer?”

That is a question travel agents around the world get asked every spring!

Have you ever been to Texas is the summer?  Texas is HOTTER!
or Louisiana in the summer? Probably NOT that humid!

Rainy season, its various climatic characteristics and geographic distribution make of Puerto Vallarta its most lush and festive season.

True, summer can be a little hot and humid – and people say the rainy season is  June-September, with September the rainiest, all that said,  while the rain can spoil a day at the beach,  the tropical storms can be quite beautiful, when rain seems to march across the hills and lightning illuminates the sky.
Also, frequently, the rain comes at night and/or in short spurts.

In PV, rainy season generally means nice
sunny mornings with the clouds moving in mid afternoon, and a cooling
rain by 4 or 5pm, usually lasting no more than an hour or so. Everything
is washed clean, the dust settles, the air freshens, and then we await a
beautiful sunset. And if we get a storm after sunset, words can’t
describe how magnificent the light show is over the ocean. Free entertainment, right?!

So, what else is there to do? There’s
always the beach. If it starts to rain, there’s shopping. I’m always
amazed to discover new shops that I didn’t know existed. So many streets to explore!

The Sierra Madre Mountain range surrounds the Pacific coast and protects Bahia de Banderas,
enabling nature and diverse biodiversity to surface in an almost
rhythmic process throughout the year, summer being its biggest boom.

Vallarta’s first indication of summer is the sudden appearance
of increased precipitation, which leads to abundance, hope, joy and
beauty.

“veranum tempus” meaning summer in Latin bears great meaning. Summer in Puerto Vallarta
signifies ‘life’. No need for dictionaries or scientific research of
any kind; simply look around you: thousands of trees and bushes have
blossomed to an ever-lush shade of green, butterflies roam freely,
listen to the chirping of the hundreds of birds and critters out there.

Keep in mind too –   since most people want to come in the winter to escape their snow and cold weather, summer is off season, and provides lots of deals and bargains!
